A Gen-Z Good News Story

Gen-Z Employment

Posted 05/04/17

The Gen-Z team have been working with a 17 y/o male who was referred to Gen-Z by Department of Human Services. The young person has faced family issues which led to leaving school and moving numerous times to different states.

The young person relocated back to the Gold Coast and self-placed with their extended family. Our client was very motivated to engage in our service. The young person’s main goal was to achieve his Year 12 qualification however the enrolment period had ended upon his commencement with Gen-Z. While the young person waited until the next enrolment period, he participated in the a Hospitality Skillset program.

Our client then enrolled into mainstream high school. Transition to Work advocated for him to be considered for a School Based Traineeship which wouldn’t have been considered in Year 12 normally. He was successful and started his traineeship at a local franchise restaurant on the Gold Coast.

During his time with Gen-Z Employment the young person is able to work on his confidence, skill building, employability, and achieve his goal of completing Year 12. By doing so, he is strengthening his networks and making friends along the way.

Gen-Z Employment is thrilled to share this good news story with our community.
